Absence makes the heart grow solitary

Today’s Nobody’s Father’s excerpt in the Toronto Star is actually my own essay. In truth, it’s more of a highly condensed version than an excerpt. From a writer’s point of view, that makes it hard to appreciate because all you can see is what was cut out to make it fit on the page, but at the end of the day, I think it’s not bad. Of course, I prefer the original, lengthier version, which you can only find in Nobody’s Father.
